A lifelong hobby - Gavin Hepworth

It all started on the 15th May 1984 when my Dad took me to my first game at Belle Vue, the Rovers hosted Hartlepool United, a 1-0 defeat, but that didn't matter so much, my first programme was purchased and what began was a hobby that continues to this day.

Throughout the mid 80's and then into the 90's I was a season ticket holder and traveled around the country, picking up programmes on my way, however In 2003 I moved away from Doncaster and this is perhaps where my hobby took over, as I became a less  frequent visitor to Belle Vue and latterly the Keepmoat I started looking to plug the gaps in my programme collection. My initial goal was to collect all Donny home and away programmes back to 1984, this then stretched back to my birth in 1976, this goal once achieved then became 1960 and subsequently 1950.
 

In 2018, the goal of having all competitive fixtures back to 1950 was complete and I started sharing pictures online, these front page scans received over half a million views on Flickr, which is why I finally decided to take the plunge and create my own website, something that I could control for others to enjoy, whether that be other collectors who are also interested in the hobby or Rovers fans just looking to recollect.
